    Castrol Edge EP 5w30 2016 Ford F-150 3.5 EcoBoost

Agreed. I've seen plenty of UOA's on here by same person with same driving habits that show useful data on the differences between oils. Overall, wear is near the same but some are slightly better than others. But you can definitely see a difference in longevity between some oils in TBN...

    Castrol Edge EP 5w30 2016 Ford F-150 3.5 EcoBoost

Amsoil SS 5w30 is in there now, next up is the new Valvoline Extended Protection 5w30 cause I like the high moly and their focus on wear protection. Seems like a similar formula to the new Maxlife that has a nice dose of moly and seems to do well in terms of wear metals here. Then either PPUP...

    Castrol Edge EP 5w30 2016 Ford F-150 3.5 EcoBoost

Agreed. I have some other oils in the queue already so going to try them out and have them tested because why not. But it was my BITOG research that led me to choosing this oil for this motor. Glad to see I chose correctly. My guess on TBN was in the 4’s as it seems to retain well in other UOA’s...

    Castrol Edge EP 5w30 2016 Ford F-150 3.5 EcoBoost

First UOA on my F-150 and I’m pleased with the results. About 80/20 city/highway. I work 4 miles from home. Mostly short trips, some off roading, and a little bit of towing about 6.5k lbs. I didn’t expect wear numbers this low, even for the short-ish 5k run. The additives referenced was Chevron...

2016 Ford 3.5EB ~8400 miles Edge 0W40 Cu trending up

The owner of that truck is doing 34k+ miles a year. Which means mostly highway miles, that's the biggest factor. I'm sure he can get that mileage on any oil. If we all were just following manufacturer recommendations, there would be no BITOG. If he gets to 400k on Motorcraft synblend, then...

Acura / Honda 3.1 ATF Fluid alternatives?

Has anyone personally tried Amsoil ATF in lieu of the crazy expensive Acura 3.1 fluid? I'm tempted to try it but looking for someone who has first hand experience doing so.

Maxlife ATF now sates Honda 3.x compatible

Giving this post a bump. Has anyone personally used Amsoil Fuel Efficient ATF in place of Honda/Acura 3.1 yet???

Any UOA's for 3.5 Ecoboost with Euro 5w30 oil ?

Not bad at all. Thank you for sharing that. You ever figure out the copper trend?

Any UOA's for 3.5 Ecoboost with Euro 5w30 oil ?

No timing chain issues or cam phaser rattles. I have the last yr of the first gen EB before they split the timing chain in 2, I have the long one that’s prone to stretching. I installed the catch can to try and slow the intake valve deposits. You’re saying Castrol is better for that ?

Any UOA's for 3.5 Ecoboost with Euro 5w30 oil ?

Makes sense. Would definitely like to see a UOA on my specific motor to see how the 0w40 and 5w30 Euros perform.

Any UOA's for 3.5 Ecoboost with Euro 5w30 oil ?

It just seems like on paper/in theory it makes a lot of sense. They're notorious for beating American full synthetics out of grade, although Castrol and PP seem to hold up decent. Those oils probably have a HTHS of 3.1 - 3.2. I'd trade an mpg or 2 for some added protection/longevity...

What was the city/highway mix on this OCI? How about idling?

    Fake Motorcraft oil filter ?

Ahhh ok. Yes, I have 2 of those style with 14 or so larger flat flutes. I'm assuming the ones with the 30 tiny ridges are the older style they just moved away from then?

    Fake Motorcraft oil filter ?

I ordered 3 Motorcraft filters at different times from the same Amazon Prime link with high reviews. They are FL-500S for a 3.5 Ecoboost. One looks completely different from the other 2 and I'm wondering if it was a Motorcraft design update or one of the types is fake. The main difference is...

    2018 MAZDA 3 2.5 MaxLife Synthetic new formula 5W-30 5500 MILES

He's in Arizona, Mazda specs 5w30 for Mexico. Probably a wise move for the climate.
