There should be no problem with mixing them.

I got oil starvation in a long 270 degree cloverleaf with the oil 1/4 qt. low. It only has a 5 quart capacity, so there's less than 4 quarts if the oil level is a little low. That wasn't enough to keep the oil pickup submerged in a long .6 -.7G corner.

If I remember correctly Maxima oil has about twice the Moly of Redline.

I run my Maxima a 1/2 qt. over to prevent oil starvation in hard cornering. I don't want another spun rod bearing.

My 2001 Porsche originally came with 15w50 M1. This oil reportedly caused some ticking problems when very cold, so porsche changed the reccomendation to a thinner oil. I believe the noise came from the variable valve LIFT mechanism more then the cam timing mechanism.

Calcium seems low for a street oil.

GM EOS is the old standard. 6500 ppm ZDDP.

When I poured some in the oil filler it instantly washed off the varnish on the visible part or the cylinder head. It seemed very thin and volatile. I think it evaporates very fast so use it when the engine is cold.

1/2 oz. per qt. will add 315 ppm P and 79 ppm Mo. 1. oz. per qt. will add 621 ppm P and 156 ppm Mo. I wonder how this VOA compares to the Torco assembly lube?

Bruce, didn't you say that Rotella gear oils also use the Borate additive pack?

Do you have any documentation of the 600,000 ppm figure. I thought the Crane additive was just re-labeled GM EOS, which has ~6500 ppm Zn. I've been told that pure PCMO additive pack is about only 20,000 - 30,000 ppm Zn.

Any ACEA A3 0w40 or 5w40 oil. Seems like a BMW would have a better oil cooler.
