I can't imagine where using an oil with slightly broader viscosity (at either end) would be an issue. As you said, it was made in 1989 so the oil you want to use would be much stouter than the engineers specified. Add to that, the machine is now over 30 years old with likely looser clearances...

It is low, given that a lot of cars go for well north of $50k. My property damage coverage is $250k. There isn't that much difference in cost for the higher limits and I sleep better. The more likely coverage to be needed is liability, i.e., injury or death caused by an at-fault accident...
