Was this the old SN formula of the FS though? I don't think the new SP version (called Mobil 1 "Triple Action Power +" in Oz) has the same cleaning ability

We have the 5w30 and 10w40 available in Australia - I have used the 10w40 mostly (it is a popular weight here!)

Former EJ owner here - Penrite Racing 10w40 or Penrite ten tenths 0w40 depending on your use case.

In my ownership (30k miles) I would change the oil every 2000-3000 miles. A little excessive, but cleaning the unknown was the objective and plan on extending these intervals out. Currently running my second last bottle of Mobil 1 0w40 SN and intend to leave this in for 4000-5000 miles

Hi all - Picture attached of my RX330 front valve cover. I was surprised to see this varnish. Previous owner had a history of taking it to the dealer every 6 months. I have been changing oil every 4-5months which has included 4 oil changes with Valvoline Restore and Protect. Thinking of running...

Interesting UOA - Would I be doing more harm than good if I added Ceratec or Archoil 9100 to boost boron/moly (or Boron/Potassium in the case of Archoil)? I'm guessing these additives could compete with the Calcium.

I wish it was; and it certainly does - My photography isn't the best under there whilst covered in oil!

Here it is - The photo isn't as nice as I'd hoped but if you look closely, just above the feed hole, you can see the result. (If you have any objections I will polish it again!)

Update: I have now addressed the scratch and I am reasonably optimistic about the results. It is less pronounced, still catches my finger a little (notably less) and I believe it has no high spots. To check for high spots, I used and discarded two new honda bearings (including one "too thick")...

@Cujet Pics as requested! Only modifications are an engine torque damper, a few chassis braces, good coilovers and a greddy spectrum elite exhaust. Its running a052s on the factory wheels

No I don't blame you for asking the question - was trying to do the right thing by the car. High lead readings after multiple used oil analysis - Already running the thickest oil possible. Save for user error causing the damage it would have been worthwhile.

Oh! Nice to hear from a former s2000 owner! Sounds like it was a lot of fun 😅 I'll send some pictures on my way to work tomorrow - I have been losing sleep over that scratch after hearing about how it is near impossible to restore the factory crank due to its hardened coating. Its nearly 2am...
