Jaguar AJ133 5.0 with mustang coyote tick?

Interestingly, this guy on youtube has the exact same tick in his AJ133. I reached out through the comments and his tick started after an oil change (and flush) too. However he changed to much thicker oil. I went from 5w20 to 0w20. Link to youtube

Jaguar AJ133 5.0 with mustang coyote tick?

It was filled by a generic garage at the previous owner with ford spec (ecoboost) 5w20 according to the bills 4000 miles ok. I bought JLR spec 0w20 castrol this time. The level is perfect, I measured in and out to the drop and checked the electronic dipstick. JLR specs 5w20 for this car/engine...

Jaguar AJ133 5.0 with mustang coyote tick?

Hi everyone, I recently changed the oil in my 2010 XFR jaguar (aj133 supercharged 5.0) to the specific 0W20 castrol. Almost immediatly it developed a very strange ticking sound. Only on a warm engine, AC on, between 1000 and 1500 rpm. An intermittent quite loud tick coming from under the car...

metal in fresh oil - should I be worried?

Can't listen to it unfortunatly, it's in storage till march. Yeah the oil capacity recommendations are all over the place on these cars.

metal in fresh oil - should I be worried?

I was afraid of it being bearing material since parts of it are non ferrous. I have never heard a modular motor with chain problems, but mine is pretty much silent as far as these motors can be.

metal in fresh oil - should I be worried?

UPDATE Possibly bad news, I bought one of those magnetic pens and only a part of the dust that has settled on the bottom of my drain pan is ferrous. It seems the finest particals are not moved by the magnet.

metal in fresh oil - should I be worried?

Inspecting the pan bolt hole and bolt itself sounds good, I will do that come spring. Sadly, pulling the pan is a pita with these cars because the K-member is in the way. No disty, but I appreciate the hint since that could've been a valid source on a disty engine.

metal in fresh oil - should I be worried?

I was thinking 20k miles would be plenty, even for a reman engine to stop producing shavings, specially in 20-30 miles of driving... A magnetic drainplug and aftermarket oil pressure gauge are on the list for this spring, first things I'll do. Is anyone with me on the idea that it might've...

metal in fresh oil - should I be worried?

Thanks so far guys, I'm trying to find a good analysis place that doesn't charge 200 bucks, and I'm not sure if they'd find anything in 20 mile old oil. Luckily I still have the 'old' oil too. Working on that. The engine is a reman from national parts wholesalers. I guess just your regular...

Hello guys, I hope the knowledgeable people on this board can shed some light on my mystery and give me useful advice. Car: 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra I live in the Netherlands and last August bought this '03 Cobra, after having owned some other mustangs. It's got a 4yo reman engine with around...
