    Recommended polish for neglected finish

Carguy996, If I were you I'd take it to a car wash and ask the detail guys opinion. He should have the polishes to bring back the shine unless you are scared to burning through the clear coat. In that case you best bet is to have your ride re-painted. My two cents. Durango

2014 Malibu LS 2.5L recommended oil viscosity

I have two cars in the Chevy brand: 2008 Impala SS 5.3 liter and a 2013 Camaro RS both recommend 5W-30 Dexos. I'm guessing the oil weights haven't changed. Durango

oil and filter choice and OCI for college student

Not know what the weather conditions are where you live I'd go for the M1 annual protection and change once per year. Just make sure you get a oil filter that'll go the distance. Durango

School me on what Dexos really is

Happy Holidays to you all, Thank you all for your postings on schooling me again on what Dexos is. I guess my rant is that the dealership put in Dexos instead of my asked Mobil 1. At first I thought they use GM's spec synthetic for the Corvette but after thinking about it I thought I'd ask the...

School me on what Dexos really is

Hello to all, I haven't been on this forum for some time and need some old time schooling. I just had an oil change done on my 2013 Camaro and wanted Mobil 1. When I got it back home I noticed they use Dexos brand of oil. Are or Is Dexos the same as M1? Durango

    tire question

Hello to all, I have a question about finding what appears to be a small nail embedded in the tread of one of my tires. Should I try to remove it with hopes it will seal or just leave it be and replace the tires a little early?? These tires has about 44K on them and I have about 1/2 tread...

Air filter service interval vs cabin filter

I like to have my cabin filter changed every year and the air filter every 6 months. Since both my cars are still under warranty the dealership makes the final decision wether I like it or not. Durango

    GM 5.3L stopped ticking/slapping

I get the same condition from my 08' Impala SS with the transverse 5.3 engine as well. Although I use Mobil 1 5WX30 I just assumed that was the way it is and my car is garaged!! Perhaps I should try going back to the GM conventional??? It's considered to be a blend. Durango

    PEP BOYS tires

BrocLuno, I'm getting close to the tread bars. It's age is more than the mileage I put on them. Isn't or wasn't there a certain amount of years it was recommended to have ones tires replaced despite the tread? I had thought it was about 6 years. Remember the Firestone tire issue? Durango

    PEP BOYS tires

Errtt, Thank you for your posting. What my real issue is that since my tires appear to be about 8 years old I was getting worried about how these will take on a road trip to Arizona towards the end of the year with a buddy. Currently I have about 40K on these tires and I just don't want...
