I was at Walmart the other day and I noticed that some of their EverStart Maxx batteries have something of a secret date code (i.e. K4, J6, etc) rather than the obvious numeric date code (i.e. 11/22, 1/23, etc). Any idea how to decipher the alpha-numeric codes?
Thanks for the feedback. I've watched some videos that confirm much of what you're saying. Some people drill holes in the base plate so that the wheel can be bolted down snugly. Obviously that involves a few different holes for different patterns. Alternatively, you can now buy a cone for easy...

In fact, that's precisely what this is - I switched over to HDEO in my two solid-lifter engines a couple years ago.
Thanks for confirming my suspicions on this topic. I'll filler-up and put the P-car away with the oil...
I realize this site has largely debunked the notion of using a definitive mileage indicator for oil change intervals. The type of driving certainly matters.
But what about "time"? The oft-stated standards of mileage often comes with a time interval listed as well - i.e. "5000 miles or 6 months...

That seems to be precisely the point of disagreement, even amoung people much smarter than me on this topic...
What's the story with all the HDEO's being offered in 1 gal containers, while most of the other "car" oils are offered in 5 liter? I've got 3 different engines that I'll be using a HDEO in, and their re-fill capacities are 10 qt, 5 qt, and 2.5 qt. See my point????
Figures, as just last night I bought 4 gallons of Rotella T 15-40 in favor of the Delvac 1300 which sat beside it onthe Wal-mart shelf (and ironically enough, was priced a few pennies cheaper). I realize there are lots of factors to consider - any points favoring the Rotella T over the...

True indeed. The truth often seems to be somewhere in the middle, but I don't accept that as a given either.

Just for accuracy sake, I should indicate that it was actually Mobil Delvac 1300 that was...
