Old Meguiar's 3 step Clean, polish, wax. I have never found a replacement!

The good old days. There are some nifty products in the Meguiars line up and the old faithful is there. It just isn’t explicit like it used to be - also, they shut down Meguiars Online which was the best source of truth since BS popped up so often about Meguiars on “pro” forums like autopia.

New AMSOIL Signature Series formulation rolling out

Any bets on the 0w-40? I’m at 9k kms on my VW GSW but I can hold out for longer (Fall’ish). I have a toddler, and a newborn on the way for Halloween - should I get the oil and other stuff done pre-baby?

LSJr tests and discusses DexosD babymax oils

I NEVER said it was a GOOD lubricant. I said, “it is a lubricant”. Comparing gasoline to ethanol, which has less lubricity than water, gasoline is decent. In the combustion chamber it serves a lubrication purpose which became obvious when I rebuilt an engine that ran strictly on e85.

Not a bad approach. That also indicates that HPL BARO is not nearly as good as Amsoil ZRod. For my purposes of course.

Pour some out on the ground, wait, then drag your foot over it. That’s why we need to clean it off the track - not as bad as coolant, but still. E85 however…it evaporates very quickly. That’s why you need to add upper lubes and why it’s usually 15% gasoline at minimum - keep those valve...

Gasoline still lubricates things. You’re thinking of ethanol/methanol.

Please God, no. I’m here because I’m tired of the social media popularity -contest-is-right mantra. Not using the scientific method is for small minds.

    Factory Fill 0W-20, 399 Miles, Nissan Z 2026 - used oil analysis

It’s a very good baseline. No you’re not. You do the cam break in (idle it at 3k for 10 minutes on/off until about 30 minutes of run time, flush the oil, then you want to seat the rings by progressively loading the car up to 2k then coast it down in gear (engine braking), then 3k. 4k, etc...
