Need paint care regimen for new car

Great write ups. I carry a 6 ounce bottle of Griot's Speed Shine and a microfiber towel in each of our cars to combat the stray bird poop bombs while away from home.

    Sealant vs Wax

I like Griot's as well as a base coat (I'm a shade tree guy), which I use following directions of two coats applied 12-24 hours apart. I wasn't really pleased with the shine so found an old school liquid carnauba wax from a detailing shop that my sons use. It really makes our red SUV and red...

Will Honda or Toyota offer subcompact replacements in the U.S. soon?

Likewise, although I feel the Yaris S was a much more solid car than the Echo. I made it a habit to hypermile and got hybrid-like mileage at a much lower vehicle cost. I lowered the Yaris and put a short shifter on - it was a fun car to drive!

Change Interval on a Low Annual Mileage Seasonal Car

I have a similar query and like JeffBob, understand the thinking behind cheap insurance. Our 2006 Mazda MX-5 has 68000 miles. I've only put on less than 2500 miles from the last oil change a year ago. I've used synthetic with a quality filter and alway get her up to operating temperature running...

    Protect my head lights?

I've used Meguiars Headlight Protectant for the past several years with Toyota and Lexus vehicles with good success. I apply every 2-3 months.

What's your go to interior protectant/dressing?

I use this 3:1 to dress the engine bay...good stuff that seems to last.

    Layering Griots 3-in-1 Ceramic

I've been finding some great information here. A quick question - took ownership of a new Lexus NX350H in red last week. Thanks to the advice of several on this forum, I went with Griots 3-in-1 ceramic. I applied the first two coats on the second day of ownership about 18 hours apart. I put...

Any Grandfather clock fans out there?

We have one that's been in the family since the late 1700's, coming to Canada from Edinburgh. It's currently non-op but I'm sure it could be restored.

    Cordless pole saw

We have a Greenworks from Lowes - it works great on pine and oak. We have a quarter acre lot and I've never run out of battery.

Cabin Filters (NSFB) not safe for BITOG

My Dad (RIP) had a 2008 Honda Fit and never used the AC (lived in Central CA) until my wife was in the backseat and had to instruct him how to use it. Until then, he was like your Mom, relied on the windows being down.

    Ceramic for Lexus Alloy Wheels

Thank you for the tip. To extend, would you recommend this for the body of a new car as a base? I've never used ceramic or a spray with the exception of Griots quick detailer between washes. Does it really provide as much protection as NXT 2.0? Would it be overkill to use ceramic and follow up...

    Ceramic for Lexus Alloy Wheels

Hello, I've been a member since 2016 but haven't visited for awhile. SO much information and new topics! We're in line to purchase a new 2022 Lexus NX350 in the next few weeks (it's arrived in the port and ready to be sent to dealership). I really enjoy waxing and use Meguiars NXT 2.0 Tech Wax...

    Rivian Truck Spotted

I saw one near Murphys CA. I liked the styling but it was a bit smaller than I expected.
