What Oil Do Most Subaru Owners Use?

My '17 Forester just hit 5,000 miles. I watched the oil level carefully for any indication of consumption. None so far. It will get a jug of Valvoline 0w20 Synthetic next week with a OEM filter and crush gasket.

First oil change on 17 Forester 2.5 w/ 376 miles

I did the first OC on my '17 Forester @ 2,500 for the following reasons: - Was curious on how easy/difficult it was, (it was very easy). - Many on the SubaruForester.org forum recommend the first OC at 1,000 mi at which point the engine is considered "broke-in." - I was watching the dipstick...

Toyota Corolla very low oil level. Damaged?

Thanks all for the very good advice! I will just go ahead and replace the PVC (it has never been replaced, and switch to a higher viscosity syth' oil. I told him the car could get to 200k if he checked the oil level much more often and carry a couple of qts with him.

Mixed gas in small 4 cycle engines?

That is why I really started this thread. I am considering putting some into my Yaris to see if I can get back the 2-3 mpg I lost to ethanol gas.

Mixed gas in small 4 cycle engines?

I was talking to a friend and whining about ethanol gas in small engines. He told me a trick. He said to add a small amount of marine 2 cycle oil to my mower/tiller gas and see if they do not start easier and run better. I did not have any marine spec'd 2 stroke oil, but I did have a small...
