Home Depot no longer recycling CFL bulbs

Yeah, it's tough to get rid of HazMat around here. The county has a waste collection depot but it's open only like a couple times a month for an hour at a time. Tough to make it out there. I have a stash of CFLs and traditional fluorescent tubes that are waiting for disposal. I've resigned...

Legal Age To Buy Nitrile Gloves

I get carded for buying wiper fluid. Guess due to the methanol content.

    Sprint vs Verizon

I think you get 30 days to cancel your contract and return your phone(s) if you don't like the service. First hand experience is really the only way to know if Sprint is a good fit for you as coverage will be highly variable between individuals and their usage/travel habits. I have Sprint and...

    Bad dealership experiences

Goes right along with the story from a friend of mine who tried to test drive a Lexus. Salesman laughed at him and told him to go to the Toyota dealer down the road because he wasn't dressed like someone who could afford a Lexus (he wore a raggedy t-shirt and jeans). The other Lexus dealer in...

    Battery Replacement For Hedge Trimmer

Any 18v battery that is the same shape/size will be fine. At the end of the day, it's just a plastic shell with a bunch of battery cells inside. I got my replacement off of eBay for something like ~$20-25. The original is a NiCd. Your best bet is to find the highest mAh rated NiCd replacement...

    Anyone remember Furr's Restaurant?

Furr's is still around. Maybe not in your area but they're all over the DFW area. Yeah, lots of old people. The food is decent and I love the breakfast buffet on the weekend.

Everyones Favorite Dino and Synthetic at Wal Mart

Walmart has the best price on M1 and XOM has rebates all the time making it an even sweeter deal. Unlike SOPUS rebates, XOM rebates are honored consistently.

    Abandoning the Fumoto Valve Plan

They make an adapter for oil pans with recessed plugs. Don't recall the cost off hand since I've never needed one on my vehicles.

    Jury Duty

If you don't get told they have enough jurors and sent back home, they'll pull you in for voir dire and ask you questions. One of the common questions is about jury nullification. All you have to do is tell them you're a proponent of nullification and the prosecutor will strike you from the pool.

Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Transmission $7200 CAD!!

Is there anything special about this transmission? New OEM trannies (as opposed to junkyard or rebuilt) are always expensive and this seems in line with what I would expect from a dealer. Just for reference 7200 CAD is 5612 USD at time of this reply.
