My John Deere chain saw requires 20-1. ( it's 45 years old ) The mix I do, winds up being 16-1. 8 oz of oil to a gallon of gas. I've have run my Stihl weed whipper ( 40-1 ) for a dozen years or so on the 16-1, runs fine. I've just bought a Husqvarna leaf blower and I'm running that on the 16-1...
a bottle of STP to 100oz of whatever oil is what I use. 100oz is the size of the laundry detergent bottle that I use. Been running this for over 40 years on the same bar.
My old John Deere chainsaw takes 20-1. Because of that Mixing the fuel is easy 8oz of oil to a gallon of ne gas. Consequently my 40-1 and 50-1 two strokes get the same fuel
If the handle can come off on one side, I would get a piece of tubing and slide it over the handle. Fill it with glue. If the handle can't come off, slot a piece of copper pipe and slide it over and glue it.
A book by Doug Roe is the book for the rochester carbs. He worked for GM at their proving grounds location. I have one of the last of the carbed 454 engines in my motorhome ( 1989 ). With a rebuild on the carb and a recurve on the distributor and headers, it's a beast.
Do you have a front load. washing machine? If so try using 1/2 of the amount laundry detergent. Too much detergent in those front loaders will cause bacteria to build up in the drain pipe from the machine. It will cause a nasty sewer smell.

These used to be notorious for shorting out. What happens is when they short out, straight power supply voltage goes to the speakers...
