    2021 F150 Coyote Changes

I wonder if the change to 5w30 is because of the fuel economy improvements obtained from adding cylinder deactivation.

    Hard to read dipstick

What oil are you using? When I first got my Mustang I really struggled to read the dipstick with the oem fill (motorcraft 5w20). If it wasn't for the two dots I'd have been clueless, hot or cold. I put in pennzoil platinum 5w30 and had no issues reading it. I figured maybe it's the 5w20 but I...

Oil not being replenished at Walmart.

Both WM by me are stacked. Pennzoil products look like they aren't budging. Mobil products are running low on shelves but if you look 5 feet to the left there's large "bulk sale" displays of a crap ton of mobil 1 oil. Except their bulk sale costs more than the rollback sale of whatever is on the...

Pat Goss' perspective on thicker oils

    Unless it is a misprint?

The 5w20 looks the exact same except for the gf-6a spec. May be safe to assume 5w30 is the same. The lack of the "cleans 50% better" also doesn't necessarily mean it cleans wose than before. It could very well just be a shift in advertising because all other oils that meat gf-6 are relatively on...

    API SP is here!

I was planning on stopping by my local walmart today to have a look. I'll let you know if I find any.

Oil temps for 2018/2019 Mustang GT

And this is why I'm here. I feel like 5w50 is a bit much for a DD but I'm more interested in longevity over MPG gains. I've been doing a lot of reading on the coyote engine and it doesn't seem like it was made to have tighter clearances for the 5w20, but instead designed to withstand more...

Oil temps for 2018/2019 Mustang GT

I've read some guys complaining about thermal castration on the pp2 when they had an aftermarket oil cooler and such installed. I hope your right and the gauge is accurate, however Ford decided to get the temperature. Actual numbers would be nice, though. I got that picture through 10 minutes of...

Oil temps for 2018/2019 Mustang GT

I'm having the fun time of reading the endless debate between 5w20 and 5w30 (I've read plenty good about 15w40 rotella for longevity but I tried that in my 95 5.0 I got a rod knock the very moment it fired up). I figured I'll just base that answer off of my own needs (spirited daily driving...
