Clamp on oil filter "coolers" do they work?

Originally the Pennzoil Utra Premium (PUP) 0W40 was the only oil meeting FCA's spec for this engine. In the last 12 months, a few other oils have now met FCA's spec and are acceptable. But not just any 0W40.

Clamp on oil filter "coolers" do they work?

Nope, 2020 6.4L Challenger. Coolant temps stay in the 215-225F range. Oil temps are always 15 to 20 degrees above, always. Other 6.4L owners say it's normal as theirs does it as well. But it bothers me. I know FCA required 0W-40 natural gas derived 'synthetic unicorn tears' at 6 month intervals...

Clamp on oil filter "coolers" do they work?

I recently installed one of those on the oil filter of my 6.4L Hemi because I've had it laying around in the garage for 25+ years, the Hemi runs it's oil Very Hot (240F is fairly common), I've hit 249F without trying and it has an OE liquid to liquid cooler, I was doing an oil change and it...

    Engine Oil Filter Magnets?

I've bought some crazy strong rare earth magnets off e-bay and I stick them on the outside of all my oil filters. Can't hurt. I remove them after I've pulled the filter and stick them on the new filters.

    MO-899, Aprox 2,300 Miles

2020 I'm using Safari on an MacBook. Should be the same pages but apparently it's not. I have looked and looked.

Thanks for the web-trail but there's no "Latest Maintenance Records" link anywhere on the "My Garage" page. My vehicle is listed and there's a "Maintenance Schedule" tab and a "Do-It-Yourself Resources" tab, but neither of them have any kind of "maintenance records" tab.

Do you have a link to the specific Mopar page that you log the OC's for you car? I have my car registered there but can't figure out what combination of buttons to push to get to where I can log in the OC's. Thanks

    Anti-drainback Valve Leakage

It depends on how good the ADV seals, the condition, weight and type of oil, ambient temperatures and the length of time sitting. My Toyota has an inverted oil filter, using OE oil filters or Amsoil, or Fram oil filters, they seem to hold some oil up until about 3-7 days. After that, I can tell...

    Oil Filter Torque Figures

? Spin the filter freely until it stops on it's own, then 3/4 turn. Very simple, always works, never too tight or too loose. Mark it with a sharpie to get precise, accurate 3/4 turn rotation if you want. +/- 1/8 turn doesn't matter.

Toyota oil filters and timing chain rattles.

I obviously took him literally when he said bone dry.

Toyota oil filters and timing chain rattles.

If the filter is bone dry, it's not a filter issue.

Toyota oil filters and timing chain rattles.

I also have an '07 FJ (now 163k miles) and only used a Toyota oil filter for the first few OCI's when first new. Since then I've used Amsoil and now Fram Ultra's. A couple of years ago the chain started to rattle mid OCI, I believed it was the chain tensioner which runs off oil pressure. I...

HEMI Oil Pressure Issues (Oil Filter Related)

When I checked 6 months ago, they were recommending the WIX for the 6.4L Hemi IIRC. So they're recommending the EAO11 instead of the EA15K50 filter now, hmm.

Should I return 7.5 yr-old New Old Stock (NOS) Fram Ultra Synthetic filters or buy more?

I agree. Keep them and run them. The newest version of the Ultra may not be worse, only different. Time and data will tell. I wouldn't have any worries using what you have shown.
