There are 15w-50 oils for both superbikes and cruisers, what would be the difference? I know cruisers and tourers require long distance riding at high speeds. Superbikes on the other hand are revved higher for shorter distances. How is this related to select the correct oil for the same grade?

I dont know about that but My sister is surely going to get her oil changes done there now. The 3.5 V6 engine is pretty good on oil so she should be fine with a semi-synth.

Update 2: Changed oil at Tom's Lincoln Quick lane. No extra services sold to her and the job was done right. Full points to the dealer.

Update: Got her to go to a Lincoln QUickLane dealer for 6qt of semi-synth. They have a 'The Works' Coupon which works out to $55/- all inclusive with motorcraft oil and filter.

So, my sister visited VOIC, Pepboys and Walmart. VIOC and Pepboys quoted $90.00 for oil and filter change with coupons. Walmart was a straight $50.00. plus, the Walmart near her house did not agree to do the $9.99 oil change. How are Pepboys and VIOC oil change after coupons coming to $90.00?

Can't we Know from the PDS if the oil is actually good enough and just not licensed for approval?

Veedol has lots of oils approved by BMW and Mercedez-Benz. Euro Spec syntron 5w-40 is not one of them. But the PDS mentions that it meets the requirements. Mobil1 0w-40 also says that it meets the requirements for vw 503.01, GM-LL-A-025, FIAT 9.55535 and API CF. Now if Veedol is a bad oil...

Put in Savsol 0w-20 SN GF5 semi synth (GRP III) for the winter over Veedol for the Winters. Savsol (savita oil technologies) is an Indian oil brand manufacturing in collabration with Idemitsu.

replacing Liqui Moly High tech 10w-40 with Liqui Moly HC7 5w-30 for the Winters. http://www.liqui-moly.com/liquimoly/produktdb.nsf/id/en_8541.html?OpenDocument&land=gb It is a slightly detuned version of Liqui Moly SPecial tec LL 5w-30. 10w-40 performed well and kept the engine quiet.

I was looking for a 5w-30 oil with 229.5 specs for my car and reached this thread. I checked the Euro, US and AU magnatec start stop oil specs but the Indian oil seems to have completely different formulations. It is 5w-30 rated a3/b4 SN and ILSAC-gf5. But no BMW or Merc ratings on the spec...
