Do HID bulbs lose effectiveness with age?

I actually installed a new pair of Philips D2R (~$70 shipped from ebay.) There are nothing wrong with my previous bulbs but diff is noticable (brighter but "yellower" ) A very reasonable "upgrade"

    Honda or Toyota

Toyota for the following reasons: - No need for DOHC, VTEC, Si, Type S/R or superduper stickers to boost power. - DIY friendly (parts and labors.) - Less "ricer" than Honda. - Cheaper insurance (how many Honda missing their "H", how many got keyed? - more than Toyota) - Know how to make cheap I4...

    Yellow Ion Crystal?

I got a bunch of Hella Yellow Star before the price went up. Very nice yellow to match with my OEM HID headlights. I got it from http://www.rallylights.com - quite pricey @ $6.14 but better than overpriced PIAA.

    Premium Fuel Recommended

I have a 01 ES300 with the same engine with OP's RX300 -> 1MZ-FE and can tell the diff. b/w regular v.s. prem. If I switch instantly from a tank of 87 to 91, I won't feel much of a diff unless I reset your ECU (by pulling EFI fuse.) ECU must re-learn this new gas. However, if I switch instantly...

    GC 0-30 mix

I have about 40qts of GC from AZ clearance 2-3 year ago. I will use them in my Lexus ES300 1MZ-FE with 75k on the clock. AFAIK, GC 0-30W is actually a low-40 grade. I want to get a low-mid 30 grade. Which grade should I use to mix? 0w20 5w20 5w30 10w30 OCI is 5k due to stop and go traffic 10mi...

Auto RX - should I do it now? or wait?

Another Idea: drain the current oil into a 5qts jug for reuse later. Do ARX NOW since it will be summer, alot hotter with pizza box. Near overheating a car is not a good thing to do IMO! California summer heat + traffic is good enough!

Auto RX - should I do it now? or wait?

I just ordered 2 bottle of Auto-RX for my ES300 with 1MZ-FE (spell: SLUDGE) Anyway, I got this car with 120k on the clock. Change the engine oil with the following: 3/4 qt of GC, 2qt of Havoline, 1qt toyota oil, 1qt Pennzoil and some LC20. Oil has less than 200mi on it. Previously Seafoam it...
