Which vehicles require rotate caliper piston

Quick question cause Google isn’t helping. Is there a rule of thumb or general way of knowing which vehicles require to rotate the rear caliper piston while compressing? I know my civic requires it. My family members ford sedan does too. But not all do right? I know it is a function of the...

Fram Ultra 7317. Had a little over 16k miles. Two oil changes @ 10k and 16k with supertech 5/30 and RGT 5/30. Note the adbv cuts. Everything else looked good. The cuts did not go all the way through.

Kia Engine dies due to lack of oil changes

My BIL had a KIA sedan a few years ago that the motor died due to some oiling issues. It was well out of warranty and not knowing better he paid out of pocket for a new motor. We all assumed the indy shop he took it to, to get cheap oil changes, were ripping him off and not changing oil. Well...

    10K on semi-syn?

Not saving money if I half my OCI but I will be if I follow The OLM. I have to imagine Honda programed it well. If you consider they programmed the OLM with dino oil in mind than I'm sure Semi-syn is up to the task. And yeah, with this oil and filter I'm at roughly $11 per OCI. Even if I fall...

    10K on semi-syn?

Thanks for all the input. I forgot to mention the mileage and consumption and all that good stuff. The motor is just a few miles short of 200k. I'd say it consumes about half a quart or so over 10k using various 5w-30 full syn. I don't baby it either. It gets plenty of Italian tune-ups but I...

    10K on semi-syn?

So I've been running 10K OCI's on my 2008 civic for a while now using various Full Synthetics. I jumped on a great deal for a bunch of Chevron 5w-30 Semi-Syn, should last me a few years. Question is, is the Semi-Syn up to the task of a 10K OCI or should I step it down to whenever the OLM tells...

    General consensus on AC Delco

Thanks everyone. It's the first brand new vehicle I've ever bought actually (questionable whether I'll ever do that again) so I planned on sticking with OEM filters and following the OLM (roughly 5k between changes), at least for a while. Bought a pack of 12 oil filter cartridges off Rockauto...

    General consensus on AC Delco

I've run a few searches but nothing quite scratched the itch. What are you all's opinion on AC Delco filters (oil and air) for their quality/performance? I never used them until my latest truck is GM (OEM ACD all around). Ive changed the oil a few times and the cartridge looks good upon...

    Fake filters?

Ended up ordering from Rockauto. Thanks @mattwithcats for the heads up there. Looks like they did indeed change a few words around on the filter. No more "Hengst" most notably...
