    Cell phone/driving: an officer's view

It should be against the law and $500 min. fine. I live in DFW metroplex and do not use phone while driving except for GPS. In the past 3 yrs, I've had to avoid idiots driving and texting more than a dozen times. Thinking about getting a tank with huge guards front/back and not swerving to avoid...

Buying a vehicle with a salvage title

Never trust what a motivated seller tells you, do what Doog says and get it aligned to make sure there's no damage. It'll eat tires like t-rex if it won't stay aligned. I'd also get a trusted mechanic to check out engine. Does carfax report show it being registered yearly? Never know, may have...

    SynLube is for me!

I have a dozen eggs in the fridge, I think I'll go crack a dozen into the crankcase and see how it does. There's prolly a billion dollar marketing and brainwashing/"distributor training" program tied to this Syncrap. It also prolly has a "DO NOT DISCONTINUE USE AND RETURN TO REGULAR OIL OR...

    Disappointed with AMSOIL Engine Flush

From reading other forums as well as this one about flushing/cleaning engine deposits, I really do not think a 1 time application of anything but a kerosene/oil mixture will show much results. AutoRX works over time and is gentle, as is most of the other products on the market because of the...

    ARX Did not Work

OK, let me get this strait :^)' the Autorx cleans first, which may cause the seal to actually leak more at first (ie. removing deposits in/around). Then after the dino works a month or two, the seals become more pliable again as the dinoil reseals with "newer" deposits? This sound reasonable to...

Auto Rx and high mileage oils

I did Auto RX in two vehicles, a 93 mazda V6 and a 87 4 cyl. honda accord, and it helped both run smoother. I personally will not buy this again since I use another forum and many of the guys swear by a kerosene flush. Basically 1 qt. of dino and the rest kero and run 5/10 min IDLING, then flush...

    Good reliable small car?

You have alot of choices here, I like my 87 Honda accord...just 170k miles and in great shape. If you drive alot and make a mental tally of "sightings", which means that they are in service and not dead, you'll find more older accords/civics and toyota corolla/camrys and nissan sentras/maximas...

    Belt dressings - opinions?

Yes, I put in another post ^ that this stuff only breaks down the belt while making it "tacky" at the same time. Maybe the tackiness comes from breaking down the rubber compounds. Secret is to only use one or two short squirts on the belt as it is moving. Serpentine or multigroove belts are...

Bad squeaking sound when turning wheel

Yes, the belt dressing will work for awhile, then you have to reapply. Basically it breaks down the belt and makes it tacky...so eventually you have to replace belt anyway. Sometimes a quick fix if you're not getting enough alternater output also.
