Oil for 170,000+ mile 2009 Honda Fit Sport

Changed the inline one at the first change, so hopefully running fairly clean now. The fluid still has a red tint to it. Now whine that's perceptible from the cabin. It is a pretty rough-shifting transmission, but it's within the normal operating roughness. Haha

We've had it since 130,000 miles, and have done two changes since - one when we got it, one at 150,000. Both with Honda DW-1. Considering going MaxLife at the same time that I change oil to R&P.

Oil for 170,000+ mile 2009 Honda Fit Sport

Me again! I have an inline transmission filter on-hand to replace the existing one, but should I consider replacing the internal transmission filter as well? This is the filter/strainer in question.

Yeah, when we adjusted valves, I forgot to replace the valve cover gasket. But I have it in my garage. I did not know that about the plugs! Might do that. It's only a couple more bucks for a 5 quart jug, through Wal-Mart.com.

Oil for 170,000+ mile 2009 Honda Fit Sport

Thanks, y'all! I'll give Valvoline Restore & Protect 5w-30 a try for 4 full changes. I'll change the filter within the first few thousand miles of the first oil change, and then again at each change thereafter (I always do anyways). Using Premium Guard EP filters. After those 4 changes, I'll...

Oil for 170,000+ mile 2009 Honda Fit Sport

Folks push these things multiple hundreds of thousands of miles. And sure, maybe not “worth” much, but I don’t like buying new vehicles when I don’t have to. Yeah, that just means the car needs a valve adjustment is all. Pretty regular thing.

Oil for 170,000+ mile 2009 Honda Fit Sport

Our commuter car, a 2009 Honda Fit Sport, has developed an oil leak or burn. No apparent leaks, but I haven't yet checked any of the gaskets that could cause this. Car is at just over 168,000 miles. This oil change that I just did over the weekend, and the one before, were both done with...

Which oil filter for my Honda Fit, from RockAuto?

    I don't shop at Walmart. ;)

Which oil filter for my Honda Fit, from RockAuto?

I looked at eBay and the prices didn't seem much better than Amazon or RockAuto (after RA shipping). I'd rather buy from RockAuto. I just purchased 40 parts from them this month and there were no mispicks. I failed to mention our OCI. We'll probably end up around 7,000 on this OCI. I don't like...

Which oil filter for my Honda Fit, from RockAuto?

It's the 3323 on there, but I think that's a 99+ as well. I was curious about those. Are those 99+?

Which oil filter for my Honda Fit, from RockAuto?

We have a 2009 Honda Fit with 170,000 miles on it. Numbers from Blackstone for the past 5 oil changes are all looking great. I've use Purolator BOSS, Wix XP, and Honda Genuine oil filters. However, I'd like to buy in bulk so I'm looking at RockAuto. I've been trying to sort through threads from...

    2009 Honda Fit Sport 1.5L - 4,818 OCI - 150,000 miles - Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W-20

Just had the Fit's valves done a hundred miles ago. Feels like a brand new car now.

    2009 Honda Fit Sport 1.5L - 4,818 OCI - 150,000 miles - Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W-20

FWIW, I've only ever had "A 1" come up, which is oil and tire rotation, in the 30,000 miles we've had it. That said, valves should have been adjusted at 100,000. We haven't done it yet, and they definitely need it. As for any sort of maintenance schedule, I've never found anything official. I...

    2009 Honda Fit Sport 1.5L - 4,818 OCI - 150,000 miles - Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W-20

I've thought about this as well, whenever it's time to get oil. However, I know it works, so there's that. Yeah! I don't know the impact of if any of those are outside the range, but I was impressed by that as well.

It appears that there are 8 spark plugs on the 1.3L Fit/Jazz.
