Any idea who makes TrueGard brand motor oils? I found it suspiciously low priced for full synthetic 5W40 55 gallon drum at $489.90 with free shipping. Minus $100 shipping, what kind of full synthetic will be worth $389. Good quality full synthetics in $550-800 range. Anybody knows? 5w40...

Then if its not used for a while that might as well happen again, this time inside of the equipment, which may or may not cause some problems.

Educate me, please. If I take full synthetics 5w-30 API SN GF-5 of those 3 brands (may add Castrol, Valvoline or Mobil to that mix) and put them in a identical brand new engines, run them at the same rpm, change oil as recommended after xxx miles, then engine with what oil will fail first...

Full synthetics should help. If you were in Miami I could give you some for free.

If compare all the specks from different oil makers, Rotella is some where in a middle. Napa and others work as good. Marketing hype.

That could happen if that batch wasn't blended properly. It still should work ok though

What is the oxidation hours requirement? You would have to double check on some technical sites, but as I remember its possible to use 10w40 motor oil instead of hydraulic. If so, wouldn't synthetic 10w40 be a solution?

Why would it matter? If some oil makers state that oils can be used in Komatsu, Cat, Cummins, Detroit, Hino, etc, shouldn't it be enough? It doesn't say in manuals, usually, that only certain brand can be used. Unless, ofcourse, that brand paid them to do it.

SOPUS distributes Shell, Pennzoil, Quaker State, god knows what else. Wouldn't they all be similar somehow? Poured from the same hose, probably, and branded differently.

Just curious, why would you waste your time?
