It would not work for me. The time it takes to charge and the cost to “Fill up” is a no go. During the hot summer months in the desert the charge stations run on huge loud diesel generators or natural gas as it is.

I would not worry a bit. Overfilling a modern engine that holds 5+ quarts by 1/2 to 1 quart will not hurt a thing.

I just use the good old AC Delco P63. Perfectly sufficient and dealer has them all day long for under 10 bucks.
