    In what way do you think the pentastar is “flawed”? And if it’s a flawed motor why are you buying a ram? Oh and what year is this “slightly used” ram again? I didn’t see that mentioned.

    2016 Wrangler pentastar 5K oci. out: Formula shell conventional 5w20 in: Standard Mobile 1 synth 5w20. Mopar filter as always. I made the switch to M1 purely for OCD reasons. The jeep takes 6qrts and everything is sold in 5qrt jugs now. Coscto sells M1 is 6qrt cases (y)

    I don't see where @easym says what year this ram is. What year is "slightly used"? Some pentastars had problems early on with valvetrains that no oil would fix. After a few years revisions seemed to have solved that. They are easy on oil and as long as you use anything close to the factory spec...

    Ive been happy running VR1 in the built sbc in my trans-am for years. It has a decent sized cam and no over drive so 3000 on the highway. I would try the 10w30 VR1 and see where that lands you on the oil pressure. Amazon has the 6 qrt case for 31.99 on and off.

    My 2016 wrangler's pentastar has been happy with conventional formula shell 5w20. I got a deal on a bunch of cases a few years ago. I like the 1qrt bottles because the jeep takes 6qrts and most oils are sold in 5qrt jugs now.

    Did you ask them to show you the DOT code on the lamps? The only thing those crap LED dropins will help you with is getting in to a head on collision.

    150 over isn't really a big deal for a gen5 ls. My bet is the long block will outlive the rest of the truck and the supercharger even if you use the cheapest oil and filter you can find. Amazing motors.

    I buy consumables in bulk from from RockAuto. Brakes, wipers, filters, etc. I love me some wholesaler closeout.

    Cleaned RA out of their Hastings LF115's for my old dodge d150. Hopefully they are good filters. I should be good for a decade. $1.75 each on wholesaler closeout.

    To bad no 10w30. My VR1 stash is running low. 20w50 is way to thick for me.

    Oil for a 1965 F100 Inline 6 with flat tappets and hydraulic lifters....

    T5 is my goto oil for anything that is flat tappet and stock spring. It's good oil, don't ruin it with any snake oil additives.
