bouncing around $3.60 this morning. If you guys are using a smart phone, there is an APP called gas buddy. It will show you cheapest prices by your location
Just got my work car on the road, 92 escort with a 1.9 liter.
Had the system proffesionally flushed as it was very neglected. Out was nasty rusty coolant of unknown age, in went 1 gallon and change of prestone
It may produce a small amount of cleaning, but I would add a pint when you are closer to an oil change. I like to change the filter about 1000 miles before a OCI and top off with MMO
I have been using PP in the wifes kia sorento for quite a while. Over the weekend though it got an oil change using Mobil clean 5000. I only switched becouse the shelf prices seemed to have really jumped in the last month or so
I have heard some bad things about the Saturns heads and problems with head gaskets.
Good news that the engine was nice and clean though, and as far as the carbon deposits on the pistons, eh, big deal. A whole lot of violent stuff is going on at that point. i wouldnt worry about it.
Fram cans are by far more widely available. Every store I shop at has a massive orange display with very limited space for the others. And this is probably what the opinion is based on.
I might even compare these results to users of MMO and Auto RX. While ARX has a good track record and Im sure...
Looks good to me. I pulled apart the upper end of my old 1987 Mercury 3.8 that had a steady diet of conventional high mileage oil and it looked brand new.

How can you not be sure if its a 2 or 4...
Some engines have a reputation as sludgers. Otherwise, get a small inspection mirror and lower it down the oil fill hole and have a look inside the valve cover. Or you can pull a valve cover if its not buried under the intake and plenum.
I was always real concerned about my 87 mercury 3.8 motor...
Many years back when I worked as a mechanic we had the fleet account for the Enterprise rent a car around the corner from my shop. I always double checked everything on those cars knowing someone was renting for a trip and was depeending on a reliable car. They never questioned the billing...

Very sound advice. I had a set of cheap wires on my Mustang many years back, and on a sub zero morning it would'nt start. Installed a set of Motorcrafts and she fired right up
Dumped a full synthetic at 3000 miles to go to a dino oil in a Montana winter season? To each there own.
Was the Castrol giving you alot of start up noise?
