    GM 6.2L troubles aren't over.

The Yukon Denali has included the 6.2L standard for many years. That may be what you are thinking.

    GM 6.2L troubles aren't over.

That should be an L86 then, AFAIK. My 2019 Yukon was built in 2018, though the pickup got them first. L86 to L87 allegedly changed bearing suppliers, AFM to DFM, added stop/start capability, oil pump appears to be unique to the L87, and the crank machining issues that GM admits. Added the flex...

What are you working on today?

"Bessie" got a new exhaust system. Growing up in Ohio, any exhaust work always required a torch. Very different here, or I wouldn't bother in my condition.

CVT fluid change 2020 KIA Forte EX

I'm curious to see what ours (2020 Forte FE) looks like when I change it and the filter just after 60K, this summer or fall. This was at 40660 miles in May '24

Castrol EDGE Euro on sale at Walmart

I ordered 5 last night and got them delivered to home for free today. Tried ordering 4 locally for pickup (~2k miles away from home), order was canceled immediately and got this email. Price went up in the cart to the normal $27.xx.

For sale: 1979 Cadillac Sedan DeVille

I don't believe my Uncle's '79 Fleetwood even had the Econo-Minder. The fiberglass skin on the hood and the rear disc brakes were note worthy on it. Don't recall it having recliners either.

For sale: 1979 Cadillac Sedan DeVille

I am completely baffled at the lack of manual or power recliners in big GM. They were available since the mid 70s, but so rarely purchased. My car always made people do a double take. I really needed the adjustability after my spinal surgeries.

For sale: 1979 Cadillac Sedan DeVille

That was an unusual car, even when it was new. I would love to know the percentage of d'Elegance and Fuelie in DeVilles.

Catch can for GM L86 6.2L?

I put one my 2019 L86 when it had 18K miles on it. I have less than 20K now. Easy for me to reach. Cheap one with a dipstick too.

    Back Surgery

Most of my neck and lumbar spine are fused. I waited too long and my nerve deficits are permanent (I didn't know any better, pain was not my chief complaint, bad opinion of back surgery). The longer nerves are compressed, the chance of recovery is reduced. I had a laminectomy first, but fusions...

Texas doesn't require sales price of a real estate transaction be made public

Idaho is the same way. The homestead exemption form I just filed specifically lists that disclosure of the purchase price is not required. I've been watching Google out of curiosity to see as our info becomes public. When we bought our previous home in Boise 28 years ago the form specifically...

Notes from replacement of GX470 air conditioner compressor

Unlike the big FWD cars (Electra, LeSabre, 88, 98, DeVille) with dual fans, The midsize cars aren't as good a candidate for R134a conversion. GM added a pusher fan that is ECM triggered on high head pressure for the '94 to '96 models. I added the same fan to mine ('92) with a creative automatic...

Notes from replacement of GX470 air conditioner compressor

Both were F.I. before 1990. The 3300 V6 is sweet, the odd little brother of the 3800. Only MPFI (rather than SFI), no camshaft position sensor, MAP or EGR. Surprisingly easy to service.
