I have / had one like that in my 6.5 diesel. Haven't had it running in a couple years though.
I should spring the coin I guess and put one like that in the 4.3
It's been sitting dry for a good while, so I know it is at least surface rusty.
I did the same. The filter glue dissolved and plugged my ATV carb. I gave an honest review. The seller tried to bribe me to take it down. I refused and for some reason, Amazon removed my "review privileges".
I'd like to run a bypass filter between heater hoses. Any idea on something that will remove rust and scale? Maybe something paper or cloth, like a metal canister fuel filter.
I see the 30 micron stainless pleated filters for under $30. I don't see how they would remove the discoloration from...
So as a bypass for atf and power steering, ok.
Coolant, I did see the 10 micron screen filters I could rig as a bypass.
I've had such a run of bad luck, I'm trying to get ahead of the ball.
I am curious...
Can a cooler be to large for a transmission or engine oil?
I have one, a Hayden by the looks of it, with 1 inch pipes, "tanks" on each end and I'd guess 1/2 on the outside cross tubes.
Looks like some for a semi tractor.
I put one of those cheap drain plugs with nylon washers into my transmission pan.
Of course it constantly drips.
It has a large plug that goes into the pan with a nut and two nylon washers on it. In that is the small drain plug with the leaky washer.
Will a copper washer solvent the leak?
