21Rouge,
My bad! The oil IS 5Wx30 and not 10Wx30. Must be fat fingers late at night.
My Saturn was built September 23, 2008. I participate on the 4 Lambda forums and get a good "flavor" of major and minor issues. The timing chain issue is a predominately '07 & '08 problem (non DI motors)...
Thought I'd post up my latest UOA. This DI motor does NOT like MOBIL 1, 10W30. With just under 15K miles on her, this latest UOA reflects a trending up of key metals in the oil. The OLM at this change read 62%. The kind of driving incurred in this last 5K miles was predominately city (75%) vs...
Thought I'd update this topic with my latest UOA. Vehicle now has 10,500 miles on her.
The initial, and 2nd oil change were with re-refined oil from Lyden through the dealership. This last one was with synthetic Mobil 1, also through the dealership (I provided the oil)
Oil filters: 1st change...

With a...
Steve S,
Thanks for the insight on the this initial oil analysis. I was thinking the same as far as metals that are showing up falling off as I put more miles on her. I've seen a lot of favorable print here on the M1 filter by Mobil.
Bryanccfshr,
Thanks for your positive comment on the...
Yup, KBB trade in value on my 4 month old Saturn Outlook as compared to a GMC Acadia (pretty much the same vehicle visually) is a $6,000 hit differential. It's a good thing I didn't buy it to trade it. I'm in it for the long haul.
It truly is right and tight for me. Weighing just under 5,000...
Hi,
NEWBIE here. Been an occasional lurker. Recently purchased an '09 Saturn Outlook with GM's new direct injection, variable valve timing V-6. A very sweet ride. There are many threads on the LAMBDA forums (Outlook, Acadia, Enclave and Traverse) on oil life, fuel dilution and sludge buildup...
