my 2 cents: I have had good results with both. Use VSOT if you need the increased viscosity, SX if you don't. And I completely agree with Terry, without analysis, your just guessing.

Would Pentosin CHF 7 or CHF 11 be the best for a 99 Passat as a replacement for the darkening stock fluid with 60k miles? Also is it safe to Arx the PS with Pentosin fluid? Thanks

Yes it's bigger and doesn't fit. An elderly member of the family was coming home at night after a stressful day and thought it odd that they had to hold the nozzle up against the filler and that there was considerable splashback. Well I found that the octane of diesel is only about 20! so I think it's siphon as much as possible out and refill with the highest octane available in the area and maybe a shot of octane booster for good measure. Thanks everyone.

Can MTL-R (14.7) and MTL-P (11.5) be mixed to achive a fluid in the mid 13's? The OEM VW fluid is a little thick in the snow so I would like to just run MTL-P but I'm a little concerned about next summer.
