    I use Amsoil, the 5-30 with the EAO filters. Not the same type of vehicle, however my oil analysis came back indicating the oil had thickened up, so that might benefit you in the long run with the piston slap issue as well as save you some cash.

    First off I am an Amsoil guy and I used castrol GC for a 10,000 mile oci and I got one if my best results from blackstone with that oil just to help shed light on the table.

    I just finished the rinse phase on gthe Justy noe on to the next cleaning phase. I really havent noticed any difference in how clean the engine is with the auto rx but we will see in another 1000 miles or so what it looks like.

    Amsoil 5-20 should be a great fit, my buddy uses that in his car with the v6, if you can get your hands on that you may be happy however if not the stick with the motorcraft.

    I just found 1 quart of Penz SG 20W-50. This was in my basement so I have no idea how old it really is, the bottle has not been opened. I have a 1988 subaru Justy with over 252,000 miles. What do you all think about using this oil with auto-rx and 10w-30 valvoline, the oil capacity on this car...

    Amsoil pricing is so much cheaper. I would say it is a little more expensive then Mobil 1. One of the Amsoil dealers here can set you up with dealer pricing. The only draw back could be the shipping costs.
