Silicone/dielectric Grease on Air Intake Tube

Well no lube needed today. Whatever release agent was still on the rubber worked just fine to wiggle things into place. I appreciate all the suggestions here, and will keep it all handy for the next time I am struggling to get things back together.

Silicone/dielectric Grease on Air Intake Tube

Purpose would just be to make it easier to fit things back together.

Silicone/dielectric Grease on Air Intake Tube

Checked the air filter this past weekend on the CRV, and saw my intake tube was cracked. Not sure if it was like that, but my guess is that I cracked it lifting the air box lid a bit too far. My question is if anyone can see any issues with putting some silglyde or dielectric grease on the...

Too late for a CVT fluid change? 155k Honda CR-V 2015

My vote would be to drain whatever comes out when you pull the plug, clean the drain plug off, and then fill it back up. If it doesn't help you with the feel you can always do it again. I just changed both of the filters this past weekend (one in the pan, one in the fluid warmer) and it took...

Help with Fuel Trims - 2002 Express 3500

We have it, but it's significantly more expensive than regular fuel. I'll certainly look to use that as my fall fill-up, and will put some star-tron in there on a regular basis.

Help with Fuel Trims - 2002 Express 3500

Thank you for the advice everyone. It does sit for a good length of time with the same fuel in it. I'll get some good cleaner and will start there. I do have plugs and wires, a distributor cap and rotor all ready to go (GM Genuine stuff... I have heard GM stuff can get funky with aftermarket...

Help with Fuel Trims - 2002 Express 3500

Hoping to get a little advice from those who have turned wrenches far longer than I. We have a seldom used 2002 Chevy Express 3500 gifted to us by a family member. We only put a few thousand miles a year on it, and other than some maintenance stuff, it's been pretty good to us. It has the...

Never ever had a car with a working AC

I had that issue on a previous vehicle of mine. Took it to the shop to have the system fixed. They put it on their machine, couldn't find a leak, and I paid for a system recharge. Two days later it was dead again. I took it back, and they said it must be the evaporator because the tech saw...

Time to switch from Valvoline Restore and Protect back to high mileage oil?

Pull the under tray off and look around to see if anything is leaking. Have you changed the PCV at any time in the recent past? Is the 2+ quarts you had to add what you were seeing before the Restore and Protect, or only since you started using it?

    Slate EV Pickup

I have always been interested in the little guys trying to make stuff happen. (Elio motors was one that seemed promising and fell apart). Slate seems to have their plans well in place. They have lots of do it yourself tutorials for installing all their accessories, or they have partnered with...

    Delvac 1300 Super 10W-30

I try to pick a few gallons of this up to stack with the rebates once a year. It goes in all my OPE.

Under the valve cover - 2016 CRV

Question for anyone else who has worked on this Earth Dreams engine before. It looks like I have some seepage from my valve cover gasket that I don't recall seeing before. I did use Motoseal for the four areas where the castings meet in addition to a new Honda VC gasket. Any tips for if I...

I agree. So just sharing my observations, but nothing can be conclusive at this point.

Under the valve cover - 2016 CRV

I am not a member there, but have viewed a few of the threads when I was looking for information. I did read up on the VTC actuator, and it seems like the spring fix has mixed results. I looked at the Honda TSB for several things, and looks like its just open ended, feels like they were...

Under the valve cover - 2016 CRV

That's my plan going forward I think. Yes, looks pretty much the same. Just read that thread and seems like it's a low flow area. I have the startup rattle but haven't gotten into changing the tensioner or the cam actuators or springs. Maybe someday if it really bugs me, but it sounds like...
