Yeah I was looking at the latest year lowest mileage panther platform car I could afford and ended up with a 07 Mercury Grand Marquis with 89k, After owning a 05 Cadillac SRX that turned into a problem after problem money pit I now want a reliable hwy cruiser.

Well I'm definitely glad to hear about the reliability in the 4.6 V8 that's exactly why I chose a panther platform vehicle. It will be a Texas Highway cruiser for me as I do travel often for Dallas-Austin-Houston.
Think I will be going with a 5w-30 Castrol Synthetic oil w/ Wix filter.
I know this thread is old but just wanted to show my thanks & appreciation because I always wanted to know more about the pro series K&N oil filter line.

The Oldsmobile 307 is like the Olds version of the Chevy 305IMHO
They came in lots of Oldsmobile cars Cutlass, 98 Regency...
As far as my ignition system I went through that earlier this year and did the following:
New MSD GM HEI Cap & Rotor
New MSD GM HEI coil
New MSD HEI 8mm street fire wires
New AC delco plugs #41-630
This woke my 307 quite a bit, I saw MSD also makes a module like pertronix but I didn't know...
Good point I will re-run my VIN
