    drain plug gasket

Just an FYI, I've been using the washers with a rubber grommet from the parts store. I'm at 200k miles on my '07 Outlander and have only needed to replace it once. Easy peasy.

    2015 Subaru CVT transmission

Sorry to revive an old thread, but need a bit of advice and I think you guys have the ideas to bring me through. Today I was changing out diff fluid. Working out of the service manual, I thought I had everything straight...but instead of refilling the front diff with the fill hole above the...

    Stud Fatigue?

Thanks all. I've had good luck in the past leaving feedback on their national page and getting assistance from area manager. I've now bought 3 sets of tires for this vehicle and two sets from another....you'd think they could comp half hour of labor. There are other companies that offer...

    Stud Fatigue?

Relatively long story short, I got some new tires put on my Outlander (Destination LE2). When taking off the rear wheel, three of the studs twisted off. The last person to touch the wheel was that shop when I had them rotate and do an alignment about a month ago. Shop swore up and down that the...

    OTC vs OEM coolant

I'll be a bit of an odd duck and say availability is a driving factor for me. If I were to go to my Mitsu dealership, I'd need to drive 30 min each way. My NAPA shop is 5. If an OTC will work, why am I driving so far out of my way?

What are you paying for your internet connection?

I pay $125 / month. I get 1gbit up/down, no caps. This is for gig internet and TV (all channels except add-on packages). Google fiber! Fastest speed test was 660Mbit down/600Mbit up.

    Firestone Car Care-Opinions

I use them solely for buying decent tires, lifetime balances, and lifetime alignments. I make them align my outlander every 7.5k miles after I change the oil. The tires are lasting a long time. I had the truck in getting a state inspection. They tried to sell me a complete brake and rotor job...

    Maintenance on new cars...

I'm currently car shopping, and that's why I ruled out the Jetta. I think I'm settled on the Impreza. Oil change is laughably easy, and most other things are right in front of you. My only gripe is the CVT fluid, which I'm going to be researching some more. I really dislike having my fluids...

    Mitsubishi Diaqueen

My Outlander calls for straight 80w and a straight 90w for the t-case and rear diff...of course it "had" to be DiaQueen. I replaced both with Mobile1 75w90 around 80k miles ago...about time for a change. Nothing has blown up yet. I can't imagine there is any secret sauce in there.

Where have all the compact trucks gone?

I'll miss my Ranger when it is gone. I putter around in the city and do use my truck to haul things around. I do not want a bigger truck, I will only be tempted to put more [censored] in it! Next vehicle will be a car, but I'm keeping the ranger...somehow.

    99 ranger oil tsb

I tried 5w20 in my 3.0...it didn't really like it too much. it chattered more than usual. I run M1 HM 5w30 and it runs well...same price as M1 5w20 at walmart. The vulcans were backspec'd years ago to 5w20 as not much has really changed. The 4.0 engine cannot go to 5w20 due to oil pressure...

    Reviews on Bridgestone's Ecopia tires

A little late to the party, but we recently purchased a set of the 422s for our Mitsubishi Outlander. Before, I could only eek out 24.5MPG @70mph (on I-70 through missouri...relatively flat, some dips and hills). I now average 27-28MPG according to the readout. I'm happy with the savings...

Are all radiator brands about the same?

3 years ago my OEM radiator died on the Ranger. I replaced it quickly with a Ready-Rad. That lasted 1 year. I replaced it again with another Ready-Rad warrantied out. That lasted 3 months. I purchased a Visteon (OEM for that truck) and no issues since. I had to get a little stern for O'Reilly's...
