Using a thicker oil than is called for

I use Toyota's recommended 5W-30 on my Yaris. The Yaris is rated 36 mpg highway, but I commonly average 52 through hypermiling, so unless there were a huge difference, I would be hard pressed to believe that 5W-20 versus 5W-30 would impact mpg that much, but again, I am just learning.

    Obama's Stimulus Plan

Ok. I am not insulting anyone. Whoever may have passed this $1 tillion welfare plan, Democrat or Republican, would have been wrong as I see it.

What Michael Phelps should have said.

I think he should have said, "Yes, I did, just like all you hypocrites."

Break in oil should be dino: myth?

My Toyota owner's manual says, "No elaborate break-in period is required." I guess read into that what you want lol.

How much residual oil leftover after oil change?

Haha I am laughing because my Yaris takes I think 2.9 quarts of oil lol. I am comparing it to soe of these big engines and it seems like so little.

    Mobil 1 Extended Life

I have searched and read but am still confused as to the difference(s) between Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 Extended Life or whatever it is called. The only difference I can see for sure is that the Extended Life has more of the SuperSyn additive package. Are there other differences, and would there be...

Oil related failure in the Renesis rotary engine

I generally do not consider Wikipedia reliable, but since it was cited: "The rotary engine was an early type of internal-combustion engine in which the crankshaft remained stationary and the entire cylinder block rotated around it. The design was used mostly in the years shortly before and...

    Mobil 1 Oil Filter

Mobil 1 advertises their filter as "free flowing," so I wonder if it is all just propaganda?

    Mobil 1 Oil Filter

I use Mobil 1 oil filters, because I did a tiny bit of research and found that they are superior. However, if anyone has any other information or experiential, anecdotal evidence, I would love to hear please. What is your favorite filter, and why? Thanks.

Oil related failure in the Renesis rotary engine

Lubrication has traditionally been the design downfall of the otherwise-brilliant Wankel engine.
