Pennzoil is all that my previous cars seen and they never left me on the side of the road.... (knock on wood). BUT my impression of this Valvoline oil so far is that it is doing SOMETHING. When I expected this to just be marketing bs and run like every other oil I have put in it.
The only...
I just wanted to give a small update. I put about 500 miles on the oil so far.
Some thoughts....
I put 12k miles on my Crosstrek in the past year or so that I had it. Almost every time that it sat for 24 hours or more I had a quick "kazoo" type noise when I started my car. I just assumed that...
Probably tougher regulations outside the US. Either way its saying the same thing from different angles. Up to 99% is still a crazy claim though.
Its insinuating that the engine will never be 100% clean. While still making the product sound good.
As I was typing this out I thought of something that hasn't been mentioned yet. It's clearly not temperature dependent. The piston rings are obviously much hotter than the valvetrain.
I just took it out about 2 months ago and cleaned it... Only put 2k miles on it since then. So I can't really test that haha. It should be pretty clean still
They mention it briefly in the video. But don't say much about it... Carbon is carbon doesn't matter where it is. It's probably a marketing thing. Clearly it's cleaning parts of the engine, in previous posts, that aren't just piston rings.
I just put this in my 2020 Crosstrek. After using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum for years in multiple cars, I thought the same thing. It smells like sulfur and cereal. Very strange smell. Car also seems to run a little bit quieter.
I'm definitely not taking the intake manifold off just to...
