Obd2 Scanner for a Late model Subaru Forester

Yeah a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle can work on a 2001 Forester, just make sure the app supports Subaru protocols. For under $200, I’ve used OBDLink, BlueDriver, or Ancel for live data. If you want something standalone, youcanic or a cheap Autel tablet works too.

What is the most you have spent on repairs, relative to the value of the car?

Honestly, one of the worst I’ve had was dumping around $1,200 into a car that was only worth $1,500 at the time. It was mostly suspension and cooling issues, and I kept thinking, “Just one more fix and it’ll be good.” Spoiler: it wasn’t. Stuff like that taught me to weigh repair costs against...

    Road trip tool bag

For a long road trip, your list is honestly pretty solid already. You really just want stuff that’ll get you out of a parking-lot situation, not a full toolbox. What I usually toss in for a 1,000+ mile drive: multimeter 1/4" socket set with a couple 3/8" pieces a small set of combo wrenches...

How does the 6F50 "know" the line pressure?

From what I’ve seen the 6F50 isn’t guessing line pressure, it has a pressure sensor that reads it directly. You can see commanded vs actual pressure with a decent scan tool, I noticed it when I was messing around with my youcanic and it helped make sense of some weird shift stuff

Internet Bank Scams - Careful out there - Be warned

Scammers have become too clever yet also stupid nowadays. They have more access to our data, yet they still send messages with wrong grammar or misspelled words. 😂

ODB readers: Which would you go for?

Here's mine: Autel- for solid all-around coverage + techs use them a lot. Topdon- deep system access without crazy cost. OBDStar- underrated and does a lot of service functions most cheap scanners skip. Youcanic- isn’t the fastest but it reads everything and actually explains codes without...

    Low-Cost Reliable OBD Scanner

For a ’96 Dodge, a simple OBD2 scanner works fine. I’ve been using youcanic lately and it just reads codes without any hassle. You can also research on Foxwell, Autel, or even Torque and find which one you'd like more
