Like others have said above- I think Valvoline Restore and Protect is the way to go. I’ve got some lined up for our newly acquired ‘12 CRV. How many miles were on the Accord when you bought it?

Rain stopped so I went out and tried to take a couple more pics. It’s tough getting a shot under the cams- best I could get.

Quite a bit of varnish and some carbon buildup on the baffle plate. A nice orange hew all over when looking around on the top end.

Thoughts on using the Honda A02 filter for the Valvoline Restore and Protect runs? I’ve read mixed reviews of it and it sounds like it might let more of the removed “crud” through but less of a chance of being overloaded compared to a higher efficiency filter?

Good idea- I saw a guy use something in one of the YouTube videos. I’ll check it out.

Yeah- took a few days! Lots of good info on here! Yup- was planning on doing time-based changes based upon the expected drive cycles- thanks! I still might do an early filter swap to get an idea of what it’s collecting.
