Run the biggest oil filter that seats on the base plate and fits under the hood. Kohlers (I've got one in a Cub GT2544) run screaming hot and any extra cooling surface will help. Oil-wise I run Rotella T6 for the full-syn heat capacity and the fact that it's cheap at Wally World.
From a reliability standpoint, switch to something like Rotella T6 and use the biggest oil filter that fits. These things run screaming hot and just kill oil.

@rcy:
The blue Subaru/Fram filter is Subaru P/N 15208AA12A. Do yourself a favor and spend the money on EBay to find the black Tokyo Roki filters, Subaru P/N 15208AA100.
I'll warn you, though, that since the change to what the Subie community considers a junk Fram filter, the price of Tokyo...
Kind of defeats the purpose for self-defense if you're setting inside and getting car jacked, doesn't it?
I didn't realize that Vermont was so reasonable overall, though. Isn't your neighboring state to the East even more tolerant? I believe New Hampshire's state motto is "Live free or die"...
Move to Vermont. No permits needed for open or concealed carry. The sole requirement is that you have no intention of breaching the peace, and the only limitations are no carry on school property and no carry of loaded guns in a car.
Many WRX/LGT owners have had good results with Castrol Syntec 0W-30 European Formula, generally referred to 'round here and the NASIOC forums as GC (German Castrol, because it's made in Germany). Other M1 choices would be the 10W-30 High Mileage or the 0W-40. Look for oils that meet the ACEA A3...
Has anyone been able to find simple specs on these bulbs like output in lumens? I've dodged all 'round Philips' site but can't find a simple tech specs page. I'm interested to see how these compare to the 65w Osram Hyper H7s I'm currently running in the WRX.
OK, I just grabbed a quart of GC from my garage. I bought it yesterday from my local AutoZone; I don't have the datecode-fu so I can't say when it was made. The label claims it meets:
API SL/SJ/CF
MB 229.1/229.3/229.5
ACEA A3/B3/B4
BMW Longlife-01
VW 502 00/505 00/503 01
ILSAC GF-3/GF-2
.270 Win, in a Remington Model 760 pump action rifle. She's light, so she kicks a wee bit, but she's a tackdriver to 400yd (not that I ever see a 400yd shot in my woods).
