I ran the RP XPR 0w-10 just to experiment in my Sentra with the 2.5 litre. My engine didn't blow up and at 5000 miles Blackstone said report back at 10,000 miles. Otherwise it's kinda expensive.
I've currently got Mobil 1 0w-20 Advanced Fuel Economy in my '07 Dodge Dakota 3.7 litre. Also...

I see you've modified your '02 Sentra; larger capacity sump etc.
Did you install an oil temp gauge? Do you know what sort of oil temp's you generally see?
What size and type of engine do you have...
Well now, that changes everything. I'm not surprised at my error. I was attempting to cross reference using the viscosity chart. Thanks a bunch for the numbers.

And it "felt" very nice when I ran it in my Hybrid Camry. Alas, you pretty much have to special order the stuff to get your hands on any. . .
...and that's what I was doing. I'll be going back to PP 5w-20...
I'm still amazed by this, thus exposing my poor knowledge of oil properties. Royal Purple 0w-10 is designed for high temps, i.e., drag racing(doh!)... or summer driving.
I'm back to PP 0w-20.

How'd you come by the number 95 VI for RP 0w-10?

I plugged the numbers in for my last oil fill, RP 0w-10, and it shows the RP to be a very thick oil at lower temps. Even thicker than the conventional oil I listed or even Mobil1 0w-40. the numbers really surpised me...
I have a question. Why would the RP 0w-10 appear to be the thicker oil at lower temps? I crossed referenced the SUS viscosity from the BITOG viscosity chart and I think that would put the RP at about cST 48 at 40 degrees C. Did I do that right? The graph shows the RP as heavier than the YB...

The first three columns from the left are the same fill of RP. The virgin TBN was 12.1. Mods,...header, no cats, different...
It was very cold out when I changed this oil. I idled the car for a bit to warm up the oil. I'm guessing this is where the fuel came from.
I ran this oil from April 08 to Feb. 09.
The car now has Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 in it.
