Would be real interested in seeing a UOA for an oil that sat like this.
I recently changed oil since it had hit a year, but with low mileage (short trips mainly though). I should have probably sent mine off.
It may be employees or it may be other customers. Like when you get the oil filter switcharoo at WM, it is likely a customer not an employee. I always check inside the box as a result, pretty much regardless of where I go.
This can happen with other things too. Starbucks had a reward deal going...
I took a look at my sister's Highlander one time since the oil pressure light was "mysteriously" coming on when she stopped. I think it ended up having around 1 whole quart of oil in it.
It never seems like I catch a good enough oil change special or promotion at the auto parts stores to save anything over Walmart. In the past I sometimes bought the oil at Walmart and the filter somewhere else.
Is 5W-30 a recommended or allowed weight for this motor? And which motor is it?
It might be that the engine is noisier on 5W-30 than a 20 rather than it being noisier with synthetic over conventional.

Yeah they had it for the old formulations.
The "Platinum PurePlus" sheets didn't seem to have it. I mainly wanted to see if the 5W-30 was much different.
Hi, I've been lurking the forums for a while here, but hadn't kept up as much the last year or so.
At any rate, I had seen the commercials for Pennzoil PurePlus and came back to see what exactly had changed.
My question is in regards to the HTHS. I had thought the old version of Platinum and...
This is an otherwise stock motor that has a supercharger kit and a tune? How much higher are the oil temperatures now?
The Redline 0W-20 idea sounds pretty good to me. Also think the suggestion for some new gauges is a good one.
Yes, at least for the LS1's in the United States, the manual typically called for 5W-30 with 10W-30 as an acceptable alternative if temps were above 0 degrees F.
The owner's manual for my Formula even has this neat line: "Do not use other viscosity oils such as 20W-50." But recommendations...
