Price of Amsoil going up at midnight

My line of thinking is similar. I can save the price difference in oil just by driving a little more carefully and getting 0.5 MPG higher on average across an OCI. At least with today's gas prices.

Reusing Oil Filter during Oil Change, but Dumping Old Oil Out?

Reusing Oil Filter during Oil Change, but Dumping Old Oil Out?

If it's the PF2270G they are sold by RockAuto for $12.77 each. No idea why a filter that you can get for $20 shipped is so expensive you'd even play this game. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=14820105&cc=3452738&pt=5340&jsn=804

    Amsoil Signature Series & GF-7

The dealer magazine graph for noack of the 0W-20 said 7.5%, but this summer magazine print has the graph showing it at 7.2%.

Changing Viscosity for Summer and for Cleaning?

This kind of sludging can happen with a defective thermostat that is stuck open, preventing the engine and oil from reaching a high enough temp to burn off moisture in the crankcase. I had a '92 Cherokee that had similar levels of sludge buildup caused by a stuck thermostat. Living in an...

What is the best oil filter you can buy off of RockAuto?

You got a source on that? Their own webpage says 99% at 25 microns for the extended life, which wouldn't translate to anywhere near 80% at 5 microns

2023 GMC Canyon 2.7L L3B TurboMax 15.2k mi; Amsoil Signature Series 5W-30 5.3k mi - used oil analysis

Yeah, I didn't send my last car's (Honda) factory fill off for analysis, but the second OCI looked pretty similar to this one's second, so its possible the silicon level was just a totally normal level for a new engine and the transmission is the potential wildcard here. Kinda wish I sent a...

2023 GMC Canyon 2.7L L3B TurboMax 15.2k mi; Amsoil Signature Series 5W-30 5.3k mi - used oil analysis

Under the normal maintenance schedule there is no interval listed for transmissionmission. Severe service schedule says fluid and filter every 45k. Regarding the sand in the transmissionmission, there was a notable amount that had collected around and in the center of both of the magnets...

Maybe 1/4 qt over the entire OCI. The oil burning is due to a defective air oil separator. There's a TSB out for it. I have the vacuum leak chirp the TSB mentions, so I'm trying to see if that's enough to warranty it. It's only covered under b2b and they have to remove to transmission to get to...

Mobil 1 Advanced Clean formulation change

That was kind of my point, if Mobil's primary line about it doesn't have anything to do with quality or performance and solely focuses on the product being intended to provide a reliable, stable supply I doubt there's anything special about it.

Mobil 1 Advanced Clean formulation change

Given the primary statement of the product is this, I am skeptical it's as good as GTL or that it has any advantages.

I thought the same thing until I dropped the transmission pan a couple weeks ago to change the fluid and found a substantial amount of actual sand inside. I assume the engine was poorly cleaned the same way.

2023 GMC Canyon 2.7L L3B TurboMax 15.2k mi; Amsoil Signature Series 5W-30 5.3k mi - used oil analysis

Just received the analysis back for my third oil change on my 2023 GMC Canyon. 5,318 miles in ~11.5 months. I live in a very hot, dusty, and dry environment but also get plenty of snow in the winter. Driving conditions are a combination of short around town trips (2-10mi) and medium trips out...
