York Police ... Home invasion = just comply

I sm not surprised to see this on BITOG being used for political gain. It may be shocking to Americans that have guns and castle doctorine but this is the norm in many parts of the world. You are allowed to defend yourself, but it is considered more risky. Brazillians told me if I travel to...

Replacement for Michelin Defenders (no longer comes in size I want)?

For tires that come in different speed ratings, generally speaking, the lower speed will have higher tread depth and longer treadwear warranty. But it depends on the specific tires. When you go from H to V, there is a difference. When you go from T to H, it might be the same. Sound is very...

2027 BMW iX3 - Revealed. BMW’s First Neue Klasse EV

China accounts for 1/3 of BMW profits. When you see tablet controls, it's largely because of that market.   People love tech in China, and cars are considered tech/lifestyle products rather than automotive products. This is where companies have to innovate to capture the Chinese market.

Does Transmission Fluid & Differential Fluid have a time limit

Surprised spark plugs is shorter than air filter. Air filters must be massive though.

I am at 19,000 miles Brake fluid change question.

I would follow the schedule and replace every 2 years. Especially if you drive it at 100 mph.

Replacement for Michelin Defenders (no longer comes in size I want)?

RT45 is nice but I find it somewhat loud. There is decent thread slap noise, which I assume is from the agressive pattern. If you must run an all-season in the winter they are one of the best, but for warm climates there are probably better choices. I had Defenders dry rot as well. I think...

    Tire suggestions for medical issue

That may be true for the rubber, but the tire carcas should be firmer on performance tires. So personally wouldn't automatically exclude the long treadlife tires.

    Tire suggestions for medical issue

Lower speed rating should also help. Higher speed rating means stiffer tire.

Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 vs Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w20

After using both oils I prefer PP over Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy. When I near the end of the OCI I hear increased engine noise with Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy. With PP the engine sound is the same. There is also no sludge on the dipstick, which I noticed with Honda oil and M1, but we'll...

    Tire picks in 215/45R17?

Continental DWS06. They are similar to Pilot Sport for less money. General G-MAX 07 would be my budget choice. Continental does not cheap out with General like Michelin does with Uniroyal.

Krown rust proofing question for people using it

    1) You can ask Krown not to drill holes. It is an option in Canada when you book your appointment. 2) The Krown franchise owner also told me not to use underbody washes in the winter. This makes sense to me. Krown is very thin and eventually the oil can completely dry. With Krown the oil is...

Who here has tried both Blizzak WS90 *and* performance or "continental European" winter tires?

Nordic tire is just a European term for what we call Winter tire in North America.

Help me decide on a winter tire for our 2011 BMW 328i

Can't go wrong with any of those choices. If wear is your primary concern I would go with X-Ice Snow though.
