I personally only use Shell premium in both vehicles as they require use of premium. I believe the add packs that the majors use, changes the burn characteristics of the fuel vs generic and no fuel additives
I ran Mobil 1 0w40 in mine. I even ran 15/40 a few times in the summer. If you lived in Dubai 15/40 was recommended. In EU. 0/30 0/40 5/40 ACEA A3/B4 or A5
Ppl are also obsessed with buying junk generic fuels that are not going to burn as clean either. I personally try and only purchase shell gas. Both of my vehicles require premium
The first place I would start is CRC intake valve cleaner, follow the instructions, clean or replace the pcv valve, clean the MAF with the proper cleaner, change the oil. Run it a 1k miles. Get another can of CRC valve and intake cleaner. Change the oil again. Run another 1k miles. Repeat it. Do...
A lot of Subaru tuner guys prefer to flush the entire system and swap to the Toyota Red bc it has better protections for aluminum. The blue is a hybrid formula
Idk. I use RL SL-1 every OCI. And use it with a half tank I like shell gas. I don’t use Costco, when I did, MPG always seemed lower. I also believe what add packs brands use, also change the burn characteristics of the burn. IMHO. No data to back it up, just an opinion.
On my J37. I pull it out every 3k OCI and clean it with carb cleaner and reinstall. Did the same in my k24, also clean the MAF with MAF cleaner. Keeps them working good and a clean MAF keeps it running good
I just bought my first subie. A 2009 forester 5sp manual 324k in the clock. New engine went in at 280k. I believe the replacement was bc of timing belt failure. To make subie last, is routine maintenance, and don’t run them dry on any fluids. Check regularly
