My mother-in-law bought a car from them this past winter. The process is very easy and she didn't run into any titling or registering issues, on the contrary, Carvana had everything lined up that it ended up being the easiest vehicle to register she ever had.
I would be hesitant to buy a...
^^^ This.
I'm sitting at my computer terminal in a Napa Auto Parts looking at both filters side by side.
The thread pitch and sealing surfaces are the same on both filters. The 21358 is considerably smaller in diameter but this is not what caused your leak. Perhaps it wasn't tightened...
Never again. One and done for me.
Picked it up from the dealer following the motor replacement and drove it to the Mazda dealership across the street and traded it in.
Keep all the records for all maintenance. I also started tracking all the times I checked the oil in a notebook, writing down date, level, and amount added to top off. I was down to checking the oil at least every 3 days.
Mine was a 2020 Soul with the 2.0 Nu MPI motor that let go at 24,500...
Absolutely right! This is the main reason I do my own oil changes. I remember as a kid "helping" my Dad do oil changes. As oil was draining he was rolling around under the car with a flashlight and then doing the same thing under the hood. I do the exact same thing.
He's now 82 years old and...
Awesome ride! As a retired Highway Patrolman, I can absolutely guarantee it was "beat on." My old patrol cars were either at a stop or floored. Amazing what a modern vehicle can withstand, I sure pushed mine.
Love the car. Brings back alot of memories.
With the Mazda it shouldn't be an issue. My wife drives it more than me. So it will be mostly a "standard use" car.
My VW is a different story. I'm retired and work PT at a local NAPA about a mile from my house twice a week. So I might put 50 miles a week on it.
I'm not too picky about oil really, though I generally stick with the big names. I'd never really used Valvoline all that much so figured I'd give it a try. Mobil1 tends to be easy to find in the WM's so I'm not against grabbing that or the Valvoline, or Quaker State, etc.
All of my oil...
Absolutely right!
Never ceases to amaze me how upset some folks get over someone "repeating" a question that has been asked. Like there is some irresistible force requiring you to add input.
Here's a novel concept...ignore it.
Reminds me of my daughter and Facebook.
I find it really interesting the stories I've heard regarding warranty claims for these garbage motors. The circumstances definitely change from one dealership to the next. I wasn't questioned at all with mine. Although mine didn't start as an oil consumption issue, but it definitely was a...
Good plan. I did 2K intervals on my Soul and checked the oil at least every 3 days......motor still "blew up" at 26,500.
I truly hope you have a better experience.
