    Gearwrench Oil Filter Wrench $3.22

I’ve had that exact filter wrench for at least 4 years. It works great on every filter I’ve used it on. Quicker than a cap wrench (I have one but never use it anymore). Highly recommend.

    Help reading head gasket

I'd like some input on what I am looking at with the head gasket and valves shown in the photos below. So far only have one head off, should get the other removed soon. I'm pretty good at throwing the parts cannon at problems, but not so good with diagnosing. The car is a 1996 Chevrolet Camaro...

New vehicle: 2005 Suburban 1500 w/ air ride issue

I had a Yukon XL with the air ride suspension and it leaked. I bought a replacement from Arnott for a good price and the shocks had a lifetime warranty. Make sure you replace leaking shocks soon because leaking shocks will cause your air compressor to burn up and then you get to spend $200 or so...

Hertz Car Rental Fire sale Monday

I looked on their website this morning, but the prices are the same as they were last week for the vehicles I'm looking at (mid-size trucks). Anyone see any deals?

    Vacationing alone

I travel for work once every couple months and am almost always travelling solo. Nobody cares that you are by yourself, everyone is too wrapped up in their own world. For eating, I've tried everything (eat at table, eat at bar, eat in hotel room) and find that I prefer eating at the bar. It's...

Oil for High Mileage GMC Yukon XL with 6.2

Hi, I'd like to try a different oil to see if it could help with some issues. Here is the information: 1. What kind of vehicle you have: 2007 GMC Yukon XL, Denali version with 6.2 liter V8. 170,000 miles. 2. What your owner's manual says -- not just viscosity, but certifications (look for...

Are Chev 5.3L,6.0L, and 6.2L all oil burners?

Originally Posted By: Jim Spahr I have read here and other places that the GM 5.3L V8 is an oil burner. But it usually comes out it is because the 5.3 always comes with AFM & Flex Fuel. 1. What kind of vehicle you have 2001 Chevy Suburban K1500 w/ 5.3L engine. Currently has 205k miles on it. 2. What your owner's manual says -- not just viscosity, but certifications (look for acronyms like API SM, ILSAC GF-4, etc.) and change intervals as well 5w-30 meeting GM standard GM6094M...
