Should You Warm Up Your Car Before Driving?

Should You Warm Up Your Car Before Driving?

I don't warm up my fuel injected vehicles. A complete waste of time & resources in my opinion. I've always said that the best way to warm up a vehicle is to DRIVE it. I keep it under 3,000 RPM & light acceleration until the engine is up to temp. The only warming up I do is waiting for it to...

What 0w or 5w20 oils are you using?

Pennzoil Platinum! I've used everything from Valvoline conventional to Mobil 1 EP in 5W-20 though. I have no issues with any name brand oils but I just favor Pennzoil.

    Annual oil change.......

I'd just keep doing what you are doing. 0W-20 will work fine also, it will just be a little thinner at startup versus a 5W-20. It probably doesn't get cold enough in your area to where it matters though.

More PQIA analyses - Bad oils persist in Mid-West

This is why I just spend the little extra for a name brand like Pennzoil, Mobil or Valvoline.

Synthetic Oil : OK At First Oil Change ?

I've put many new engines on full synthetic at the first oil change. No harm to be done.

New Car : First Oil Change Revisited

Run the factory fill to 5,000 and change it. Have fun with your perfectly running engine for many years & hundreds of thousands of miles to come while saving money & time. Changing oil early & at short intervals = useless. Bad idea? No. Good idea? Also no. Definitely not necessary. Oil is the...

What makes tires lose pressure: time or miles?

I'm going to say time. My tires with absolutely no leaks on all vehicles seem to lose about 1psi every 1-2 months & of course you see significant pressure changes when the temperature outside changes drastically. I usually air my tires to 1-3 PSI cold above the manufacturer recommended then...

'06 Mercury Milian 2.3L, 5 spd manual- Thoughts?

I used to have a 2007 Fusion with the 3.0L V6, AWD & automatic transmission so I don't have exact feedback on this setup, but I was in many Fusion groups & forums & can give you the gist of things. The 2.3L is a very solid engine, I never heard of any complaints or any major, regular problems...
