I took lots of risks from 1982 to 2005. Since then I stopped trading futures and selling naked options and heavy stock allocation. I still own stocks just a much smaller allocation. No one size investing fits all in my opinion. I'm happy with where I'm at. Good trading.
3-3.3% was a very good return with the inflation factor from 2010 to 2020 in my opinion. It suits my needs to a T. For an ultrasafe investment I like them. To each his own. My wife is very risk averse and I sleep well at night holding IBonds and TIPS.
I just picked up some 5 yr ones at 1.935%. I'm laddering my bonds out to 9 years. I also picked up some Deutsche Bank 5 yrs at 5.28%. I've had good success with IBonds I bought in the early 2000s. Several with fixed yields of 3-3.3%.

No problem here I didn't mean to sound argumentative. I' m a permabear myself though I like to call it defensive contrarian investing. As Jimmy Rogers says buy when there is blood in the streets and it seems everyone's selling. GMO manages 63 billion. They admittedly take a contrarian bearish...
Well he called 2000 and 2008 markets. GMO also called the recent emerging rotation. They forecast 7 years out. Time will tell. If you're a momentum player or a trader he's obviously not someone you pay attention too. For long term value investors he has a great track record. To each his own and...
10 yr TIPS fixed component is back above 2% this morning. 2.06ish to be exact. Also 5 yr A rated corporates are available for above 5%. I don't have much powder dry today. Nibbled at CLOA. It's the highest yielding of my AAA CLO ETFs. Thoughts on future inflation?
Yep. I usually hit 1 penny above the low bid and usually get them pretty quick. I get quicker fills on these with Schwab than Vanguard. I guess Schwab routes through different dealers ????. The b/a spreads on some of these CEF preferred is wide.
