My Audi dealer has a 50" plasma, cappuccino bar, free wi-fi, big cumfy chairs with laptop desks, and service advisors who let you know what's happening with your car.
Do I miss my Honda dealers high school cafeteria just wait over there atmosphere?
Not so much,
The people who designed and built the thing don't write the manuals, and don't have approval over the content of the manuals.
You have absolutely no idea what the engine designers' recommendations are because nobody gets to talk to them, and any public spokesperson, regardless of technical...
I find it entertaining that as a lawyer, you haven't considered that the coherent company message about initial fills may have absolutely nothing to do with engineering.
If you do a hard break-in and change out the super secret special break-in oil early like I did, your engine is DOOMED to fail, just like mine did...at 347K
The incremental cost of a synth over a blend/dino is statistically insignificant relative to the cost of owning a vehicle.
Is the $20-$30 a year you'll save mean anything compared to the annual depreciation of your vehicle?
There is actually a huge difference. Crusing @2500 with little to no boost will give you better oil pressure and flow and well as VASTLY better air flow to cool the oil/turbo.
Ending any drive with a couple minutes of low/no boost 2K cruise is the best way to ensure turbo cool down.
Yes. And also a Chrysler Pacifica. We really liked the exterior styling, but the interior fit and finish and junk plastic interior, along with noodlely loose steering and ride quality on both were pathetic compared to even our then six year old Odyssey.
Like I said, if that's all you care...
I haven't used it on paint, but on black trim it's absolutely incredible and restores it to like new condition.
I would hesitate to use it on paint unless you have tree sap/bird dung that won't come off any other way and will cause more long term harm than the Eraser.
This is true if your entire concept of a 'quality' is no major mechanical failure in 100k.
Our 2000 125K mile Odyssey has infintely better ride/handling/fit and finish/fewer rattles than ANY brand new Ford or Chevy.
If you are oblivious to fit and finish/squeaks and rattles/sloppy...
Ramping, jacking, crawling under and digging around completely changes the nature of the procedure for a non gear head.
I can do a no filter OCI with an extractor on our A3 in the time it would take someone to jack the car and get the belly ban off. If I had to do the filter, I just wouldn't do...
A lot of people change filters every other time for simplicity. With an oil extractor I can change all the oil except for what's in the filter in abut 10 minutes without having to get at a filter, which depending on the car can be a real PITA.
If I had an easy access top side filter, I would...
Not to throw off things with another option, but with a self served GC OCI costing half of what a tank of gas is costing, I see no reason not to change GC every 5K.
