To the OP: Since you are getting the free oil changes for probably 2 yrs/24K miles, tell your service guy at the dealer that you want full synthetic (probably Mobil 1) and you will pay the difference. I do this at my dealer; he charges me a $20 upcharge for the Mobil 1 5W-30 - worth it IMO.

I agree with you, oldhp. I have looked at the dexos list and there are some strange brands on there, for sure. I'm only saying that I don't need any drama from GM if I should have a warranty claim, so I will be sticking with a brand on that list.

I have a 2013 GMC Terrain with the 2.4 and the OLM would hit 8K for the OCI. I received the letter stating the recall to reset the OLM just a couple of weeks ago. Will be going in soon to have it reset. I have been doing 5K intervals; I would never go beyond 5K.
