    M1 0W-30 ......

From the Mobil 1 AFE 0w30 PDS: Quote: Mobil 1 0W-30 Advanced Fuel Economy is engineered with a proprietary blend of high performance synthetic basestocks fortified with the Supersyn anti-wear component system. And in the Mobil 1 FAQ section: Quote: To meet the demanding requirements of today's...

    M1 0W-30 ......

I just picked some up a 5qt jug a little bit ago for when I change the my oil again in 3-4 months; just changed it today with 5w30 PU. I was looking for a 0w30 grade oil to try this winter to see how it compares to the 5w30 Mobil 1 EP I used last winter. For the price I definitely think it's a...

    2004 Saturn Ion Transmission Fluid

Undummy I should have added earlier that the price comparisons I did were only against other mineral oil based MTFs. The synthetic replacements on the other hand ranged anywhere from about the same price as the GM replacement (Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF) to a few dollars more per quart. I also did...

    2004 Saturn Ion Transmission Fluid

Quote: $8.60 a quart is robbery for a mineral DexIII ATF. Sorry, I would've bought ANY of the full synthetic equivalents like Mobil1, Amsoil, Redline, Royalpurple...... And, if I wanted a DexIIIh equivalent, I would've bought any of the store brand generic stuff for div> I intend to learn from...

    2004 Saturn Ion Transmission Fluid

That's helpful to know, this is the first time I've ever decided to change my own transmission fluid. There are so many options out there that claim various compatibilities when it comes to tranny fluids, it amazes me that people can keep track of what is compatible with various OEM fluids.

    2004 Saturn Ion Transmission Fluid

I'll remember that for future reference. Although to be honest the price per quart from the dealership actually seemed pretty reasonable to me, about $8.60/qt, which seems pretty competitive if not better than the prices of some of the alternatives I saw (Dex 3 replcement only mind you).

    2004 Saturn Ion Transmission Fluid

Quote: Same stuff as ___________? Sorry, should have been more specific. They do have the correct manual transmission fluid but because of discontinued production of Saturns it has a completely different part number now. Same transmission fluid, different part number. I did pick up the correct...

    2004 Saturn Ion Transmission Fluid

Called the dealership and they have what I need (different part # now but same stuff). I guess I should have just done that in the first place. Thanks for the help!

    2004 Saturn Ion Transmission Fluid

Quote: This may fall under a similar situation that my buddy ran into. He has a 99 Z28 6 speed that specs Dex3. What ended up happening is, GM sells a manual transmission fluid with a fancy number that is essentially Dex3. So....I would say go to the dealer and get whatever fluid they pull up on...

    2004 Saturn Ion Transmission Fluid

I've spent the last several days trying to answer this question for myself and would like some input. I currently drive a 2004 Saturn Ion with a manual transmission and 135K miles on it (owned since new). I would like to change the transmission fluid for my own peace of mind since I plan on...

I just switched from Dino to PP about 3 weeks ago after following the 3/3000 rule for 100K miles. Hoping to switch to a 6month/10-12K mile OCI. After spending time in the BITOG forums I didn't hesitate to make the switch.

    google's CADIE

I kind of think so too. The top page looks like one. I only noticed it using google, didn't take time to actually investigate the other link.

What O/S are you using and why?

Quote: I have this on DVD but no drive to boot. Plan to make another partition and install ... am interested to see what they've done. I haven't noticed much from Build 7057 (from which I just upgraded) other than it is a little less efficient with system resources sometimes. My understanding...
