Attempting to find the right balance of oil/OCI for engine longevity. You are writing as if you have certainty from the data of a UOA. What is the margin of error from the lab? We all are aware that a UOA is not the full story. We also know that fuel dilution is not linear in nature. We...

I don't understand the difficulty. I fully understand your stance; I am simply on the other side.

As stated, that is simply me. OP as well as you gent's are welcome to run a fuel-diluted engine as long as you wish. Me, I have deep concerns with fuel in my oil. And while I do run UOA's I do not believe they paint a complete picture.

Ran over a ground bees nest and did **NOT** get lit.

Bleach, Sir. No well issue. I treat my well once a year with 2 gallons of bleach. Cleans out the pipes. You can smell it in the system for about 3 days, then it is gone.

You, Sir, are a lucky soul. Ran one over with a lawnmower on the farm I grew up on. The hits were fast and many! I had about a dozen stings before I could run away. I remember the worst ones were on the ears. I'm not allergic and never felt anything but a sharp pain and itchiness post-bite...

IMO, the right answer is a 5K OCI with HPL if you are good with the cash burn or Mobil 1, Pennz, Castrol, Valv oils meeting spec. HPL is a great oil but a lower OCI is more beneficial in this application. Just me. I wanted to do 6-7k OCI's with my X3 but TGDI, I'm better off with consistent...

    Thinking of Next Vehicle Purchase

B58 0W-30 meeting spec is a-ok. I would have no issue running 0W-40 Euro in that engine at all. You are superior in knowledge here, so I'll ask with respect: do you believe Mobil 1 0W30 or Mobil 1 0W40 Euro would not be a good oil for the B58?

Book incoming! January 2025 I was in a spot after my 17yr old son cracked up his 2012 RAV4 (great car!!!). I wasn't rewarding him with a new car, so I gave him my 17 Outback with 180k. 220k now, and that was a solid decision. I have multiple friends who sell used cars, and what was out there...

I get it! I'm blessed in life, but this?? I don't care how much bankroll I could lean on; I would be rather bothered by the final cost.
