New Honda's as tough as older ones?

    Cleaning the throttle body

Some Fords, notably the Escorts of the mid 90's specifically warn against throttle body cleaning. Their throttle bodies are pre-coated with something, and any solvents will damage this coating. This warning is plainly visible where the intake tube attaches to the throttle body housing. Check yours.

Oil for a new BMW R1200 motor?

    PureOne oil filters PL14610 on a 2004 zx12R?

I only run the PL14610 on my 600 cc Silverwing. Never had a problem with anything.

Using high beams during the day

These "strobes" are called headlight modulators. I run one on my Silverwing. They flash the low and high bulbs together, about 3-4 times per second. They are perfectly legal. Combined with my hi-viz jacket and hi-viz helmet I can/will do anything legally possible to be seen by those idiots who...

Oil for New Triumph Parallel Twin?

Very nice. I'm a big guy and if I had the $, it would be a 1700cc Storm in my driveway.

    Can-Am Roadster

The Can-Am engine is not the easiest to service for even basic maintenance. Just changing the oil and filter involves removing lots of tupperware. Their maintenance schedule is even more elaborate than BMW's.

What oil in your Mower and why?

Rotella T6 5W-40, because that's what I use in my motorcycle, and It's a lot cheaper than the straight 30 recommended by Tecumseh.

Bosch DP vs Delco/Hengst Ecotec filter - pics

Number of pleats, depth of pleats, material of pleats, folds of pleats, color of pleats. Realistically, does it really matter? I'm sure they'll both filter the oil in your engine more than adequately.

What was the first car that was your own?

Brand new 1970 Plymouth Duster 340, 4 spd, 3.55 Sure-Grip, hemi orange in color, I added a Stewart-Warner tach and glass pack straight through mufflers, went and sounded like a bat out of [censored], but with no power steering or brakes it was a bear to drive at slow speeds. Original cost was...

    Luber-Finer filter quality?

Any opinions on the suitability of Luber-Finer filter # P967 for my Toyota V6 3.5L engine, as opposed to OEM or typical replacements like the Fram, Napa Gold (Wix), or Purolator cartridges? I ask only because it's available next door to where I work and it seems reasonable at $6.60 (in Canada)...

    Good oil filter brands?

My Honda's oil pump is rated at 80+ lbs of pressure, more than my GM Ecotec engine in my car. I'll stick to using PureOne's in my Honda cycle.

    Ford Ecoboost Engines

My only concern about the Ecoboost, or any DI engine for that matter, is the carbon fouling on the back of the intake valves. Until gasoline or oil formulations or some new technology surfaces to address this problem, no DI for me.
